Fragrantica, Wikiparfum, Parfumo, Fragplace and one that is not a website at all: where to look up a perfume, its notes and the brand behind it.
In our Perfume Club, we often get questions like "Where can I discover more about perfumes and different brands?".
In this post, I want to collect useful links for different categories related to perfumes and brand discovery. This is a living post and can be updated later.
Where can I get more info about perfumes and notes?
- Fragrantica - is a top resource for exploring perfumes by name and notes, though not always fully accurate. It's still useful and popular at our meetups.
- Wikiparfums - I recommend this one if you need more accuracy about the perfume notes. It's based on Fragrances of the World database by Michael Edwards which is the most known accurate database about perfumes. In general, they have great content curation and plenty of educational content and interesting articles. They also have an app which is a bit slow at the moment.
- Parfumo - is similar to Fragrantica, but with a better app. It comes in handy when you quickly need to look up a perfume on the go and save it to the watch list. They also have quite an active community and valuable data. Some people even do trends data analysis based on it.
- Fragplace - a newcomer. It aims to combine all the best features of the commonly used services like Fragrantica & Parfumo, using social features. It seems to have better curation and cross-checks about the accuracy of the content + has links to some YouTube video perfume reviews.
- Our community meetups are one of the best practical ways to discover and experience new unique fragrances and individual perfume notes. We do deep dives and also smell raw materials to advance our knowledge about perfumes in general. If you're in Helsinki or visiting you should definitely come by.
